Detailed description of River Bend Golf Links
River Bend Golf Links, named Cattail Creek Golf Club until 2009, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
River Bend Golf Links first opened for play in 1954. The course has been redesigned by David R. Bouck.
The greens are the challenge on this course because they are small and fast. The signature hole is #4, featuring a dogleg left fairway that calls for an accurate tee shot in order to set up for the second shot. The green is protected by trees in the front and the back has a pond. World Golf is located just six miles away and the St John's River is nearby, offering boating and fishing.

My son is learning to play golf, the course is usually empty, so he could hit more balls. The fairway is a jumble of weeds, the greens are in as bad a shape as the rough, so it's a "putt and pray" proposition. It's very easy to lose balls in "varmit" holes. It's not worth the drive from Jacksonville to Green Cove springs.
